Love sports? Here’s a Heads Up on what to watch:
Saturday July 12:
Las Vegas Summer League, Dallas Mavericks versus San Antonio Spurs
4:00 EST
ESPN
The number one and number two overall picks of the 2025 NBA Draft will lineup against each other for the first time as the basketball world stops to watch. The Dallas Mavericks’ Cooper Flagg will take on the San Antonio Spurs’ Dylan Harper in a rare instance of must-watch tv during Summer League basketball.
Sunday July 13:
PSG vs. Chelsea
3:00 p.m. EST
DAZN
After a tournament that has seen everything from upsets to beatdowns, only two teams remain in the hunt for Club World Cup glory. European Champions PSG, a team looking to add another piece of hardware to an already packed trophy case this season, will take on London’s own Chelsea FC. A David versus Goliath story in favor of PSG, all eyes are on Chelsea’s Cole Palmer to pull off the upset.
Second apron: a financial threshold that triggers severe penalties for teams that exceed it in the NBA.
As the Oklahoma City Thunder dry off from their championship champagne showers, their general manager Sam Presti is already back to work securing his teams future. With plenty of young talent fueling the organizations first ever NBA Championship, Presti has show his willingness to spend big to keep the core of Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Jalen Williams, and Chet Holmgren together. The Thunder's big three could earn as much as $822 million total in the coming years, putting the organization well into the second apron of NBA spending. Needing to avoid the harsh roster building restrictions that comes with spending into the second apron, expect OKC to do some retooling in the coming years.
